16. CHRYSS MENU

KL SWEET HOME -----------------------------------------------------------featuring CHRYSS & STELLA.
This was the day when i thot of preparing something special for the sisters(Chryss & Stella laa, hahaa!), as i've cooked rice, meehoon, spaghetti, etc for the previous days. thus, i've started to keep thinking of what to do for dinner while i was having class uni. taadang! i wished to prepare something more to lighter food, and these came to my mind. without dawdling, i've rushed to the grocery stall outside right after class.

紅豆糖水--------------------------------------------------------RED BEAN SOUP---------------------------------------------Red beans 紅豆, sugar 糖。

克麗絲獨創食譜: 涼薯(沙葛)黃金口袋-- 1st time! CHRYSS's RECIPIE: GOLDEN JICAMA POCKET
MY SIS SAID THIS IS MUCH MORE DELICIOUS THAN THOSE PANCAKES/POPIAH SOLD OUTHERE!! what a great compliment! =)

I would like to share the steps briefly below!

黃金口袋外皮-----------GOLDEN POCKET SKIN--Flour 麵粉, eggs 雞蛋, sugar 糖。
Eggs should have the most proportion here, as to give the great fragrance of eggs & golden colour skin, instead of just plain flour boring taste. The mixture should be thin, otherwise the result then will be more on a thick pancake. it needs to be stirred till rich & smooth enough in order to give a perfect result. A bit of sugar is added in as seasoning. Remember! Eggs should be the main ingredient here! (5-6 eggs + small portion of flour + sugar + water). we couldnt just use eggs without flour, this is because by that we would not able to use it as a 'wrapper', as pure egg skin can easily break. 雞蛋應佔最大比例﹐這樣一來才會呈金黃色﹐也才會有淡淡的蛋香味而不是濃膩的齋麵粉味。不像做其他糕點的麵粉濃醬﹐這裡只需薄薄的混合漿﹐加入糖調味﹐攪拌直順滑就能做出完美的外皮了。記得咯﹐雞蛋才是黃金袋外皮的主角噢﹗(5-6粒雞蛋 + 少許麵粉 + 小撮糖 + 水)。我不選擇用純雞蛋不加麵粉是因為純蛋皮非常脆弱易撕裂﹐不適合用作外皮包內陷。
外皮的前與後----------------------------------------------THE SKIN's FRONT & BACK VIEWS
When the pan is heated up, add in a small tiny piece of butter to melt, just enough to make the surface look a little oily will do! Then, rise up the flame, pour in some egg-flour-mixture slowly while moving ur pan nice & steadily in a round. Reminder: Just a thin thin round will do! Flip fry till golden colour to get ready. 熱平底鍋後﹐熔入一小塊的黃油﹐份量只要能稍微油一油鍋就行了。然後﹐換用中大火﹐在倒入蛋稀麵粉漿的當兒﹐快速穩定地移動平底鍋畫圓﹐讓它能順流呈圓形。切記﹕只需薄薄的一層就可以了唷﹗翻煎至金黃色待用。
沙葛內陷-----------JICAMA FILLING----------Jicama cut in stripes(for better chewing's sake) 沙葛切條(口感叫好), toufu pieces 豆干切小條, sliced carrots 蘿蔔切絲, sliced little onions 蔥頭絲, soysauce 醬油, thick soysauce 黑醬油﹐salt 鹽﹐pepper 胡椒粉。
Quick-fry the little onions with the carrot slices. Then, add in the Jicama stripes. Add some water and the seasonings above, continue frying. I choose to add in more pepper as to create a fragrant & stronger taste. At last, put in the fried toufu pieces to join the fry. Finally, move the whole dish into another deeper pot to braised the ingredients all together for around 40-60 minutes. By doing this, only the Jicama can get soften completely while the ingredients may absolutely absorb the seasonings & fragrances. In the process, water needs to be added in regularly as to non-stoply keep on braising it. Season for the last and it is then finally ready. (choosing to quick-fry first in the pan and then move it to the braising pot is to make the dish much more tastier and to completely absorb the fragrance and taste!) 蔥頭爆香後﹐加入蘿蔔絲輕炒﹐再加入沙葛條。加入少許水和以上調味料繼續不斷翻炒。我選擇加入較多的胡椒紛來使整體更香更重口味。最後加入已煎好的豆干條一起稍炒。之後﹐把全部都移鍋到較深底的鍋裡繼續慢火燜煮大約40分鐘到1小時﹐這樣沙葛才能完全軟化﹐材料也能完全入味。過程中需不斷加入水以不間斷燜煮。最後再次調味即可。(選擇先翻炒再移鍋是因為食料在爆香翻炒後再燜煮會顯得較入味可口。)

裹包內陷-----------WRAPPING THE FILLING
Face the rougher n softer part on top. Then, put on the filling accordingly. (more filling to taste richer & better! But not too much to break the skin!) After that, sprinkle some pepper on top, and then starting to wrap as you are wrapping the popiah. Cut it half, just like a pocket,and taadang~ it is then ready to serve!! Savour the Golden Jicama Pocket=) 外皮叫粗軟的那一面向上﹐依個人喜好放上準備好的內陷(更多的內陷給你更豐富可口的內陷﹐但也別太貪心而弄破了外皮唷﹗) 然後﹐再撒上少許胡椒粉﹐開始像包薄餅一樣裹起來。把它切半﹐像兩個口袋一樣﹐就大功告成啦﹗盡情享受, 嘗嘗美味可口的沙葛黃金口袋吧=)

14. Ampang Yong-Tau-Foo

23 JAN 2008 @ AMPANG YONG-TAU-FOO, JALAN IMBI. -----------featuring CHRYSS, STELLA & AUYONG.

After T4 night at Lowyat Redbox (CHRYSS's SHARINGS), I felt so damn hungry. hahaa, of course i supposed they felt hungry as well! Then, Mr.Auyong had brought us to a stall which sells delicious Yong-Tau-Foo, just near to his ex-company.

YONG-TAU-FOO

The Yong-Tau-Foo was really nice! besides those steam & boiled dish, they do offer fried stuff as well. Furthermore, every of the choices are so huge in size, not like those sold outhere where the sellers are so stingy to cut all those food into the smallest size as they could. hahaa! Your selections will then been added some kind'f soup to enhance your meal! perhaps to make it not that dry in chewing?hahaa, but indeed it taste much better with that, at least not that boring! You can also take as much sweet sauce & chili sauce as you like. After eating the Yong-Tau-Foo, i finally noticed tht: "hey! we actually just need a smaller portion of food to feel full and to fulfill our gastric's desires. Look! how much we ate normally!!" hahaa! anyway, the food from Ampang Yong-Tau-Foo really taste good, for super tasty stuff, i have to recommend you the fried dumpling ('sui-gao'), very crispy n damn nice filling!! Give it a try next time when you are around that area! =)

As for fun, here I recommend you a 'format' where you may choose to follow in consuming the yong-tau-foo: drink a spoon of soup, grab one, add on with chili sauce & sweet sauce, chew it, savour it, then drink a mouthful of soup as closing! ("Playful Chryss!" you must be thinking, aint you?! Wahaha=p)

Here's a location snap from the stall itself. Besides the Ampang Yong-Tau-Foo, there's several stalls there as well selling stuff like Char-Kueh-Tiaw, Wantan-Mee, drinks & etc. From there, you can see the Bintang Palace Exclusive Nightclub just beside the area.

13. Signatures Level 2, KLCC

That was our ladies' night. we've planned to watch movie - Sweeney Todd (CHRYSS's RATINGS) . before that, we had our dinner at the KLCC's foodcourt - The Signatures Level 2.

BEEF LAGSANE RM7.99

Beef slices with aromatic recipie, levelled by flatted pasta, with creamy cheddar cheese & mozarella cheese as topping. savour it when it is still hot! it may taste kind'f disgusting whn it turns cold. anyway, the Beef Lagsane from MILANO CAFE tastes not bad n quite delicious! you may give it a try!

Then, i had my beverages from the DAILY EXPRESS CAFE.

FRESH BREWED COFFEE RM2.80
I shall say i'm disappointed, as i choose to order my coffee from this booth is bcause i thot it is more proffessional as it named thr kopitiam. however, whn i tasted the coffee, it was just "so so"..like wat we serve at home, like unsincere. hahaa!

12. OLDTOWN WHITE COFFEE

Every PJ-Utarian must be knowing this as we know, recently Jaya3 has near to its complete construction day, and before tht, lots of restaurants n cafes have been ready for business one followed by one. the most visible one would be The OldTown White Coffee, it is a huge beautiful restaurant visibly located at the junction of entering UTAR. it is well-welcomed n received lots of great response, i supposed, as it is always fully seated. it's a great plan to open a franchise there! students are willing to spent there regularly as u could notice. Ghoe is one of the influenced student as well. since the opening of The OldTown, he has been making noise n shouting to have meals over thr always. and here it is, one of the day we've went thr. this time, is for breakfast. here's my orders:

HAZELNUT WHITE COFFEE
RM3.80 A thick aromatic white coffee with the fragrance of hazelnuts! this is my favourite drink from the old town, no matter for hot or cold. but indeed, personally, i found the glass in this branch can only be filled with a lower quantity, compared to the others. but anyway, the taste is not bad!

TUNA TOAST -----------------RM3.80 Toasted bread with a slice of vege and plain tuna. I guess i'm lovin tuna, so it taste well for me. but however, i was kind'f disappointed. as i remember, i used to order the same dish at the branch in Alpha Angle,Wangsa Maju, but then it was served with toasted WHEAT bread, n was much more nicer. the tuna toast here in Jaya3, kind'f taste a little too plain and unsincere. hahaa!

BASKET CURRYPUFFRM2.00 Not bad. Ghoe ordered this while i just try for a little bite. the curry potatoes inside seems too soft & whipped. but overall, it was okay, except the price! hahaa, u can get it cheaper outside from the stalls! hahaa;p

OLDTOWN FRENCH TOASTRM3.80 The french toast fromt his branch kind'f not tht under satisfactory. it was too sweet, while the bread was too much cooked/fried. the whole thing seems too dark in colour though.

10. Woo Pin Fish Head Noodles

10 JAN 2008 @ WOO PIN FISH HEAD NOODLES, KEPONG--------------featuring CHRYSS, STELLA, AUYONG, TIFFANNY, CINDY & MUN.
Before departing to our main location of the day - The Batu Caves (Chryss's Sharings), we've went to isi our peruts first after meeting auyong at his place in kepong. n taadang! this is the recommended place! according to auyong, although he hasn't try this on before, some of his frens have been recommending this to him for few times.
FISH HEAD/ FISHBALLS BEEHOON
You can choose from a variety of selections according to ur desires n tastes! non-fried/fried fish, non/with alcohol, non/with milk. if u doun like fish head, u may go for its yu-wak(kind'f fishcakes/fishballs?) noodles as well! i personally prefer the one with milk & without alcohol, the 'yuwak' taste gd to me as well. Basically not bad laa.. but since i seldom consume n admire fish head noodles, so i couldnt n dounno to comment much. Overall, it tasted quite nicely for me! encouraging all of u tht desires such dish to try it out here at Kepong! u can get the address from my medium picture above!

hehee=p poor mr.auyong! thot of volunteering to share with us as he didnt plan or felt like eating too much. who noes! at the end, we 4 ppl (chryss, stella, auyong, tiffanny) ended up ordering 3 bowls with different flavours & side dishes! and finally, the one who didnt want to eat that much as 1 bowl & decided to share with the girls, ended up eating 1.5 bowl! wahahahaha!!! samfu nei lar! hehehe=p

After visiting to the Batu Caves, watched the movie of Alvin & The Chipmunks (Chryss's Ratings) , we've planned to hang around. And when it reaches Hi-Tea time, here we are at the IKEA corner! yuhoo~!! -

HOT COFFEE
Can't leave this out for a coffee-lover! life~is much more wonderful with coffee... wahaha=p it's 100% REFILLABLE, as many times as u want, for a range of hot drinks selections! Coffee, coffee with milk, expresso, tea, milk, etc. And hssuu..u can refill for the softdrinks too, but SILENTLY. hehee!

IKEA MEATBALLS WITH FRIES
The MUST-HAVE dish whenever i'm here! hahaa! so delicious, especially with the berry sauce + IKEA's secret-recipie-sauce. fuyooh....irressistable! Tips: Satisfaction will be lowered down if you leave out the sauces! =) but since today's participants doun consume beef/meat, thus just bought a 5pieces set to fulfill Stella's and my desires. hahaa! but it's much more worth to purchase the 10pieces set actually! Auyong said nice too, after trying for the 1st time!

What am i doing? huh?eating wth the bowl instead?? nahh.. this is the style of savouring kampong-eggs in Kopitiam! hahaa^o^ this is a place where myfamily usually visiting in myhometown-pd. as u get to guess, it is a cafe business doing according to the traditional style n pattern, which is so popular now in d industry. (more n more kopitiam-alike-shop being built up nowadays aint it?) One of the greatest breakfast selections! simple, delicious, satisfactory. hahaha=)

This is the day when i doun actually plan to cook. but then in the afternoon when i walk down to the kitchen, there's such a strong passion to cook something! i ended up cooking my own special home-recipie spaghetti made at the sudden, with greenbean soup as dessert! And so this is the lovely dinner (爱心晚餐) for mysis after her work all day long =)

克丽丝独创食谱: 萝卜芝士意大利面(1st time!) ------CHRYSS's RECIPIE: CHEESY CARROT SPAGHETTI
When myfood is ready to served, i told mysis she will be shocked by my beautifully done dinner then. and thus, she chose to blind up her eyes in advance to receive the surprise! and dangdangdangdang~ this is the special few seconds decorated spaghetti! hahaa!
CHRYSS's RECIPIE SAUCE 克丽丝独创酱汁: Fresh homemade tomato concentrate自制番茄浓缩, fine-chopped carrots萝卜小细粒, butter黄油, cheesdale cheese芝士, egg鸡蛋, onions大葱, black pepper黑胡椒, seasoning调味料.
SIDE INGREDIENTS 配料: Boiled&fried potatoes水煮后炸马铃薯, sausages香肠, fried little onions脆炸葱头, fine-chopped carrots萝卜小细粒, thin-sliced carrots超薄萝卜细片, cheesedale cheese芝士, black pepper黑胡椒.
